Goods issue at sender

DPD Germany tracking parcel

What this status means

"Goods issue at sender" is a DPD Germany checkpoint that appears early in the journey. The sender has already sent DPD the shipping details and has now released the parcel from their stock or warehouse to DPD. The parcel is still with the sender or has only just been handed over, and it has not yet been scanned in a DPD depot.

Is my package delayed?

No. This message by itself is normal and is not an exception. It marks the point where the sender's goods leave their warehouse. It follows the steps where the shipping information was passed to DPD, so the parcel may simply not have reached DPD's network yet.

What happens next

The next step is an in-transit update, worded either "In transit" or "Parcel on its way". Each appears in about half of cases. It means DPD has taken over the parcel and it is moving through the network towards your address.

What you can do

  • Wait and keep checking the tracking history for the in-transit update.
  • If this line stays unchanged for longer than the earlier steps took, ask the seller whether the parcel has actually been handed to DPD.
  • Contact DPD only after the seller confirms the handover and tracking still does not move.
  • Have your tracking number and order details ready when you contact either of them.
