Company (temporarily) closed

What this status means

Austrian Post tried to deliver the parcel to a business address and found the company closed. The parcel is at the delivery stage, not lost. It is usually back at the local delivery base or still with the carrier, and it was not handed over because nobody could accept it.

Is my package delayed?

This message is an exception, but a minor one. It means one delivery attempt did not work, so the parcel may arrive later than first expected. It does not by itself point to a lost or damaged parcel. Whether there is a real delay depends on how long the business stays closed.

What happens next

In every observed case the next step was "Item is out for delivery". The parcel is loaded again for another delivery attempt, usually once the carrier expects the business to be open.

What you can do

• Wait and keep checking the tracking history for a new "out for delivery" entry.
• Check that the company name and address on the order are correct, and whether the business is closed for holidays or renovation.
• If staff are back, make sure someone can receive the parcel.
• If it stays stuck or the closure is long, contact Austrian Post or the seller with your tracking number and order details. Ask about delivery to another address or a pickup point.
