What this status means

FedEx has marked the package as delivered, but not into the recipient's own hands. The driver left it at a different address from the one named on the label, or with someone other than the recipient. That can be a neighbour, a building reception, a shipping and receiving desk or another nearby location.

Is my package delayed?

This message is an exception to a normal handover, not a routine one. It often follows a failed attempt because nobody was available or the business was closed. The package is marked as delivered, so it is not in transit, yet you may not have it. If you can't find it, treat it as a possible misdelivery. Sometimes later scans appear, such as "Departed FedEx hub", which suggests the shipment was still moving. That means the status can be inconsistent.

What happens next

Often nothing more happens, because delivered is normally the last step. In some cases the history keeps going. The most common next entry is "Departed FedEx hub", followed by a plain "Delivered", an import release or a clearance step. Less often there is another failed delivery attempt or a hand-off to a third-party vendor. These later scans suggest the delivery mark was not the end of the journey.

What you can do

Check around the delivery address: neighbours, reception, mailroom, porch, side door or any safe place.
Check that the address on your order was correct and complete, including unit or suite number.
If the package is not found, keep checking the tracking history for new scans, then contact FedEx with your tracking number.
If FedEx cannot help, contact the seller with your order details and ask them to open a trace or claim.
