What this status means
The parcel has reached the inward office of exchange in the destination country. This is the postal hub where international mail from abroad is received and handed over to the national postal system. In Luxembourg Post's tracking, it marks the point where the parcel has crossed the border and entered the destination country's postal handling. It is not yet out for delivery.
Is my package delayed?
No. This message by itself is normal and is a routine step for international parcels. It only becomes a concern if the tracking does not change for longer than usual after this line appears.
What happens next
Most often, in about three cases out of five, the next update is a departure from the inward office of exchange, meaning the parcel moves on within the destination country. In some cases it is first presented to customs, then cleared, or it goes to a sorting centre. Less often it goes straight to a collection point.
What you can do
- Wait and check the tracking again later. Several updates in a row are normal at this stage.
- If the parcel may be subject to customs, watch for a customs message and be ready to pay any duties or taxes requested.
- If nothing changes for longer than usual, contact the seller or Luxembourg Post.
- Have your tracking number and order details ready when you do.
