Receive item at office of exchange (Inb)

Oman Post tracking parcel

What this status means

Oman Post's international mail centre has received your parcel from abroad. "Office of exchange" is the postal term for the facility where international mail is handed over between countries. "Inb" means inbound, so the parcel has arrived in the destination country and is being processed by the local postal service. It is not yet with the delivery office.

Is my package delayed?

No. This message by itself is normal and is a routine step for every international parcel. In some cases the next step is a hold at the office of exchange, which can point to a customs check. That is the exception, not the rule.

What happens next

  • Most often, in about two thirds of cases, the parcel is put into a domestic bag for onward transport within the country.
  • In about one in ten cases it is held at the office of exchange, usually for customs.
  • Less often it is sent straight to a delivery office or to another domestic location.

What you can do

  • Wait and keep checking the tracking history. A new scan should follow soon.
  • If the parcel is held, check whether customs duties or documents are needed, and make sure your address and phone number are correct.
  • If the status does not change for longer than the previous steps took, contact Oman Post with your tracking number.
  • If Oman Post cannot help, contact the seller and have your order details ready.
