What this status means
Interpost, the international shipping partner working with Pitney Bowes, has finished handling your parcel at its own facility and passed it to a postal company. The parcel has left the export-processing stage and is now with a postal carrier that will carry it onward toward the destination country.
Is my package delayed?
No. This message by itself is a normal step in the journey and does not point to a problem. The messages that follow can look a bit out of order or repetitive, for example "Carrier Prealert" or another container update. That is common with cross-border shipments and is not a warning sign on its own.
What happens next
The next scan most often comes from the handover itself. In about three in ten cases it is "Carrier Prealert", meaning the postal company has been told the parcel is coming. Next most common is "Shipped from Global Shipping Center to Destination", and in about one in five cases a "Container Closed" update appears. Some parcels show "Shipment not yet received or processed" first, which usually means the postal company has not scanned the parcel yet. Updates may arrive in the local language of the postal company.
What you can do
- Wait and keep checking. The next scan depends on the postal company, and international legs often show fewer updates.
- Check whether the parcel may be subject to customs duties or import fees in your country.
- If the tracking stays unchanged for longer than the previous steps took, contact the seller first.
- Have your tracking number and order details ready when you write.
