Italy Post's international processing centre checked the parcel for customs release and found a problem: the declaration needed to release it is missing. The parcel has arrived in Italy and is being held at the customs stage, not out for delivery. Customs release is the step where a parcel from abroad is cleared to enter the country.
This message is an exception. Parcels do not normally stop here, and the parcel will stay on hold until the missing declaration is supplied. Delivery will take longer than usual, and nothing can be promised about when it will move again.
Italy Post usually contacts the recipient to ask for the missing declaration or details. Once the paperwork is received and accepted, customs can release the parcel and it goes back into normal handling toward delivery. If the documents are not provided, the parcel may stay on hold.
