What this status means

TForce Final Mile has logged "Shortage" during handling at one of its facilities. It means the parcel was expected in a shipment or load but was not physically counted or scanned in with the rest. The parcel is not reported lost. It has most likely been separated from its batch, scanned late or sent on a different vehicle, and the record has not caught up yet.

Is my package delayed?

This message is an exception, not a routine step. On its own it does not mean the parcel is lost, but it does mean the normal flow was interrupted. If the next scan comes soon, any delay may be small. If the line stays unchanged for longer than the previous steps took, treat it as a delay that needs attention.

What happens next

The facility usually checks its records and searches for the parcel. Once it is found, it is scanned again and continues toward delivery, and the tracking shows a new in-transit or out-for-delivery update. If it cannot be found, the case is typically escalated to the shipper, which is the seller or sender.

What you can do

  • Wait and keep checking the tracking, as a new scan often clears this up.
  • If nothing changes for longer than usual, contact the seller first, since TForce Final Mile works for the shipper.
  • Have your tracking number, order confirmation and delivery address ready.
  • Ask the seller to open a trace with the courier, and to resend or refund if the parcel is not located.
