What this status means
China EMS ePacket is saying that the parcel failed the airline security check, so it cannot be loaded onto a flight. The message reads roughly: "Due to airline security requirements the item cannot be flown; it will be sent by another method, please be patient." The parcel is still in China, at a sorting or transfer point, before export.
Is my package delayed?
This is an exception, not a routine step. The parcel has stopped moving along its planned air route, so some delay is likely. It does not mean the parcel is lost. Security checks can flag items such as batteries, liquids or powders, or items the screening could not clear.
What happens next
- Most often (about 44% of cases), the next scan is a return marked as a security return. The parcel goes back to the sender's side.
- In about 37% of cases, an "arrived" scan follows, and in about 17% a shorter "arrived" scan. This suggests the parcel was rerouted to another facility.
- Rarely, it simply shows as leaving again.
What you can do
- Wait and keep checking the tracking history. Rerouting often takes longer than the previous steps.
- If a security return appears, contact the seller. They can resend the parcel, change the contents or refund you.
- If nothing changes for longer than usual, ask the seller to open an inquiry with China EMS.
- Have your tracking number and order details ready.
