GLS has the parcel at one of its parcel centers, the local depot that handles final delivery. The driver could not deliver it because the address is incomplete or unclear. This might be a missing house number, apartment or floor, company name, or a name that does not match the doorbell. The parcel is being held safely while GLS waits for better address details.
This is an exception, not a routine step. The parcel has stopped moving until the address problem is solved, so delivery will take longer than planned. It is not lost or damaged, and many parcels continue normally once the details are clarified. Nothing is guaranteed, though.
Once GLS has usable address information, the parcel goes back out with a driver for another delivery attempt. If the address cannot be clarified, GLS may be unable to deliver it, and the parcel can eventually be returned to the sender.
