What this status means

"Под таможенным контролем" means "under customs control". JANA POST has recorded that your parcel is in the customs process, where it is held and checked by customs officers before it can be released. It is a routine step for international parcels. It does not mean the parcel has been opened, seized or flagged.

Is my package delayed?

This message by itself is normal. Most parcels move on to the next step without trouble. In a small number of cases, about 4%, the next entry is a force majeure notice about circumstances delaying delivery. That is the exception. If the same line repeats, as it does in nearly one case in five, the parcel is still being processed and has not been lost.

What happens next

  • Most often the parcel goes back to "Транзит" (in transit), about 41% of cases, and moves on.
  • In about 36% of cases, the import customs clearance is recorded as completed.
  • Sometimes the same customs control line appears again before either of these.

  • Wait and keep checking the tracking history. Repeated or slow updates at this stage are not unusual.
  • If the parcel stays at this step for longer than the previous steps took, or a delay notice appears, contact JANA POST with your tracking number.
  • If customs asks for documents or duties, or if you want to confirm the parcel's contents, contact the seller too. Have your order details ready.
  • Check that your name and address are correct in the order.
