Item arrival at collection point for pick-up

South African Post tracking parcel

What this status means

South African Post has brought your parcel to a collection point and is holding it there for you. It is no longer moving through the network. It is on a shelf or in a counter area, waiting for you or your representative to collect it. This is usually the last step before handover.

Is my package delayed?

No, this message by itself is normal. It means the parcel has reached its final stop. The message sometimes appears more than once, as the item is scanned again at the same or another collection point. A delay only becomes a concern if the parcel stays here for longer than the collection period allows.

What happens next

Most often the next entry is "Final delivery", which is recorded once the parcel is handed over. In about a third of cases the same arrival message is repeated first. Sometimes a different pick-up point message appears instead.

What you can do

  • Collect the parcel soon, as unclaimed items can be returned after the holding period ends.
  • Take photo ID and your tracking number. Some points also ask for the collection notice or the order confirmation.
  • Check the collection point's address and opening hours before you go.
  • If the parcel is not there, or the status does not change after you have collected it, contact South African Post with your tracking number. If that does not help, contact the seller and give them your order details.
