Swiss Post tracking parcel

What this status means

The parcel has passed through the border point of the country it was sent from and is now on its way out. It is no longer in the sending country's local network. It is between countries, usually in a bag or container with other international mail. Swiss Post shows this line for parcels that other postal operators have handed over to it or that travel via its network.

Is my package delayed?

No. On its own this message is a normal step and not an exception. It usually comes after export or customs clearance in the departure country, which means the parcel has cleared that stage. Tracking updates on international legs are often sparse, so a quiet period after this line is common.

What happens next

Most often the next update is "Arrival in destination country", in about three in five cases. Sometimes the parcel is scanned at another processing or collection point first, in about one case in five. After arrival, the parcel goes through import handling and customs in the destination country before it moves to a local sorting centre.

What you can do

  • Wait and keep checking the tracking history. The next scan may take longer than the previous steps.
  • Be ready for possible import duties or taxes once the parcel reaches your country.
  • If there is no new update for longer than usual, contact the seller first, then the courier.
  • Have your tracking number and order details ready when you ask.
