An Australia Post driver tried to deliver the parcel on their delivery run, but could not hand it over. The parcel is still with Australia Post, either back on the vehicle, at the local delivery facility or at a post office. It has not been lost or returned.
This message is an exception, but a common and usually minor one. It means one delivery attempt did not work. The next step is most often "Delivered", at about 31%. In about a quarter of cases (23%) the same message appears again, so a second attempt can fail too. Each failed attempt adds time, but it does not mean the parcel is in trouble.
