"Booked for flight" means Australia Post has assigned your parcel to an air carrier for the international leg of its journey. The parcel has cleared export processing and is at an Australia Post or airport facility, waiting to be loaded. It has not yet left the country.
No, this message by itself is normal. It is a routine step before departure. Most often the next update is "Flight departed", which follows in about two thirds of cases. Sometimes the message appears again, or a later flight-related update appears first, because the booking was moved to another flight. This is not a problem unless the parcel stays on this step for longer than usual.
The usual next step is "Flight departed", once the parcel is loaded and the plane takes off. After that you may see "Flight landed" and then an arrival at the destination country's postal facility. From there the parcel goes through import checks and is handed to the local postal service for delivery.
