Bulgarian Post tracking parcel

What this status means

Bulgarian Post has recorded customs information for an incoming international parcel. The text translates roughly as "recording customs information for incoming item". The parcel has been passed to customs in Bulgaria, and the details needed for clearance are being entered into the system. It is at a customs office or postal customs point, not out for delivery.

Is my package delayed?

This message by itself is normal. Every international parcel goes through this step. It can appear more than once in a row, which happens fairly often and does not mean something has gone wrong. It is only a concern if the parcel stays at this step for longer than the previous steps took.

What happens next

  • Most often the next line is "Приемане" (receipt), meaning the parcel has been accepted back into the postal network after customs.
  • In about a quarter of cases the same customs line appears again as the record is updated.
  • In fewer cases the parcel is returned from customs ("Връщане на Вх.Пратка от Митница"), which usually comes before the next postal handling step.

What you can do

  • Wait and keep checking the tracking history for a new line.
  • Check whether Bulgarian Post or customs has asked you for an invoice, a declaration or payment of duties or VAT. If so, provide it promptly, as clearance may wait on it.
  • If the status stays the same for longer than usual, contact Bulgarian Post or the customs office handling the parcel, with your tracking number ready.
  • You can also ask the seller for the order details and proof of value.
