What this status means
"Leaving customs" means your parcel has been processed by customs and is being released. It is a normal step for AliExpress Standard Shipping. The parcel is still at the customs area or the facility next to it, and it is about to be handed on for the rest of the journey.
Is my package delayed?
No, this message by itself is normal. It is a positive sign, because customs checks are finished. Most often it comes straight after "Import customs clearance complete". Nothing here points to a problem.
What happens next
- Most often, "Received by local delivery company" (about 40% of cases): a domestic carrier takes over.
- Or "Inbound in sorting center" (about 36%): the parcel is sorted before local delivery.
- Less often, it moves to another terminal or on to another transit country.

- Wait and keep checking. The next update should come once the parcel is handed to the local carrier or reaches a sorting center.
- If the status stays the same for longer than the previous steps took, ask the seller through the marketplace to look into it.
- Have your order number and tracking number ready when you write.
- Check that your delivery address and phone number are correct, because the local carrier may contact you.
