UPS sorted your parcel into the wrong route or onto the wrong vehicle at one of its facilities. The parcel is still inside the UPS network, usually at a sorting hub, and it is being put back on the correct path toward your address. It is not lost, and it has not been returned to the sender.
This is an exception, but a minor one. The message itself warns of a possible delay, because the parcel took a detour before it was corrected. Whether you actually lose time depends on how far it was sent off course. It is not a sign of damage or loss.
Most often, in about three quarters of cases, the next update is "Departed from Facility". That means the parcel has been re-sorted and is leaving for the right destination. Sometimes it is processed at another UPS facility first, or you see the same message again. Occasionally UPS also corrects address details, such as a postal code, along the way.
