Canada Post has found a problem or doubt with the delivery address on the parcel and is checking it. The parcel is usually at a delivery office or sorting facility in the destination country. Staff are trying to match the address to a valid one, for example by correcting a street name, unit number or postal code.
This message is an exception, not a routine step. It says "possible delay" itself. The same message often appears several times in a row, so seeing it repeated does not mean the parcel is lost. Still, a parcel stuck on it for longer than the previous steps took deserves attention.
Most often the message simply repeats while the check continues. Once the address is confirmed or corrected, the parcel usually moves on: it is processed again, arrives at the delivery office, or the expected delivery date is updated. After that it goes out for delivery.
