The sender has handed your parcel over at a retail outlet, such as a post office or partner shop, and Deutsche Post has taken it in. This is the start of the physical journey. Until now, the parcel only existed as shipping data created by the sender. Now it is in the courier's hands, though it is still at the drop-off point and has not yet reached a sorting centre.
No. This message is a normal early step and does not signal a problem. Most often it comes right after the sender has registered the shipment electronically, and it is usually followed by processing at the parcel center of origin. It can take longer than the previous steps for the parcel to be collected from the outlet and reach that center.
The parcel is collected from the outlet and taken to a parcel center. In about four out of five cases, the next update says the international shipment has been processed in the parcel center of origin. That means it has been sorted and is on its way out of the sending country. Sometimes the earlier "instruction data" message appears again, or a pick-up confirmation is shown first. Both are minor reordering of updates.
