FedEx planned to deliver to a business address, but the business was closed when the driver was due. The driver did not make a delivery attempt, so nothing was left and no one was asked to sign. The parcel is still with FedEx, usually at the local facility or on the delivery vehicle.
This is a delivery exception, so the delivery has slipped from its planned run. It is not a loss or damage alert. The parcel is usually delivered on a later run once the business is open, but nothing is guaranteed.
Most often the parcel goes back to the local FedEx facility (about two thirds of cases). In some cases it goes out again on a FedEx vehicle for delivery, and in a smaller share it is delivered. The same exception can also repeat if the business is still closed at the next attempt.
