What this status means
Italy Post (Poste Italiane) tried to deliver the parcel, but could not complete the delivery because the item counts as bulky ("Mancata consegna perché invio ingombrante"). The parcel is still with the courier, usually on a delivery vehicle or back at a local delivery office. It was not lost or returned.
Is my package delayed?
This is an exception, not a routine step. The delivery did not happen as planned, so the parcel will arrive later than first expected. It does not mean the parcel is damaged or lost. Whether the delay stays small depends on how the courier handles the bulky item.
What happens next
The courier will usually try again with suitable handling or a different vehicle, or it will hold the parcel at a local office for you to collect. Tracking should then show a new delivery attempt, a notice that the parcel is waiting for pickup, or a delivered status.

- Check your mailbox and phone for a notice card or message from Italy Post.
