What this status means
The sender has handed your parcel over to PPostNord, for example at a service point or a drop-off location. This is the first physical step of the journey. PostNord now has the parcel, but it has not yet left the place where it was dropped off or begun moving through the sorting network.
Is my package delayed?
No. This message is a normal part of the process and does not point to a problem. It usually follows the earlier notice that the seller was preparing the parcel. It can take a little while before the next scan appears, because the parcel first has to be collected and brought to a sorting facility.
What happens next
In most cases, about nine times out of ten, the next update is "The shipment item is under transportation". That means the parcel has been collected and is moving between PostNord facilities. Less often you may see a notice that it was prepared for onward transport, or a message that it has reached a service point.
What you can do
- Wait and keep checking the tracking history for the next scan.
- If nothing changes for longer than usual, ask the seller to confirm the parcel was handed over.
- If the seller confirms it, contact PostNord and have your tracking number and order details ready.
