Import C.O.D. (ICOD) charges have been paid or billed

UPS tracking parcel

What this status means

UPS has recorded that the import charges on your parcel, such as customs duty and taxes, have been settled. Either you paid them or they were billed to you. "ICOD" stands for Import Collect on Delivery, the way UPS asks the recipient to cover these fees. The parcel has crossed the border or is being processed for import, and the money side of that is now cleared.

Is my package delayed?

No, this message by itself is normal. It is a routine payment update, not a problem report. Most of the time it is followed by ordinary movement scans, so the parcel is simply continuing through the UPS network.

What happens next

The parcel most often shows "Departed from Facility" or "Arrived at Facility" next, and sometimes "Import Scan", "Warehouse Scan" or "Processing at UPS Facility". In some cases the next step is "Scheduled for delivery today". Several of these scans can appear one after another as it moves toward your area.

What you can do

  • Wait and keep checking the tracking history for new scans.
  • Keep your payment confirmation or UPS invoice in case a question comes up.
  • If you are asked to pay the same charges again, contact UPS with your tracking number and proof of payment.
  • If the history stops moving for longer than usual, contact UPS first, then the seller, with your tracking number and order details.
