Deutsche Post tracking parcel

What this status means

Deutsche Post has reserved space for your parcel on a flight to the destination country. The parcel is still on the ground, at an international mail or logistics facility in the country of origin. It has not taken off yet. This is a planning step, not a sign that the plane has left.

Is my package delayed?

No. This message by itself is normal and part of the usual export route. Sometimes a booked flight is cancelled and the parcel is moved to another one. That is a routine rebooking, and you may see a message about it. Only treat it as a delay if this status stays unchanged for longer than the previous steps took.

What happens next

Most often the parcel is packed for air transport and loaded into a shipping container. In about 45% of cases the message adds that the journey includes a stopover, and in about 43% it does not. After that the parcel flies. It then arrives in the destination country and goes through import handling before the local delivery organization takes over.

What you can do

  • Wait and check the tracking history again. Updates often come in bursts once the parcel is loaded.
  • If the status does not change for longer than usual, ask the seller or marketplace to check with Deutsche Post.
  • Have your tracking number and order details ready when you contact them.
  • Be aware that customs duties or fees may apply in the destination country. Any request for payment will come from the local carrier or customs.
