What this status means

4PX Express has scanned your parcel as it arrived at a gateway, a transfer point where international shipments are handled between the country of origin and the destination. "Gateway transit in" means the parcel has physically reached that facility and is being processed there. It is a normal middle step of a cross-border journey, not a delivery attempt.

Is my package delayed?

This message by itself is normal and does not signal a problem. Gateways handle many parcels, so the tracking history can look quiet while the parcel is sorted and prepared for the next leg. Only if the status stays the same for longer than the previous steps took is it worth looking into.

What happens next

The parcel is usually scanned again when it leaves the gateway, often with a message such as "Gateway transit out" or a departure or export scan. After that it moves on to customs or to the destination country, where a local carrier normally takes over for final delivery.

What you can do

  • Wait and keep checking. A new scan should appear as the parcel moves on.
  • If the status has not changed for longer than usual, contact the seller first and ask them to check with 4PX Express.
  • Have your tracking number and order details ready when you write.
  • Once the parcel reaches your country, be prepared for possible customs checks or import charges.
