Netherlands Post tracking parcel

What this status means

PostNL has scanned your parcel while it was being sorted at one of its sorting centers in the Netherlands. Sorting centers are large facilities where parcels are read by machines and sent on towards the right route. Your parcel is in the middle of its journey, inside PostNL's network.

Is my package delayed?

No, this message by itself is normal. It is a routine scan and not an exception. Parcels often pass through more than one sorting step, so you may see similar lines repeated. That is not a sign of a problem. Only if the tracking stops changing for longer than usual is it worth looking into.

What happens next

  • Most often, the parcel is scanned as received by PostNL (about half of cases).
  • In about a third of cases, you will see another sorting center scan.
  • For international parcels, in about 15% of cases the next step is transport to the destination country.

What you can do

  • Wait and check the tracking again later. A new scan will appear as the parcel moves.
  • If the status has not changed for longer than usual, contact the seller or marketplace first, since they arranged the shipment.
  • Have your tracking number and order details ready when you ask.
  • If the parcel is coming from abroad, customs charges may apply later. Watch for a notice about this.
