Netherlands Post tracking parcel

What this status means

The parcel has reached a PostNL sorting centre close to where it will be delivered. Here it is scanned and sorted by address and placed on the right route. It is a normal step late in the journey. For many parcels it follows customs clearance or arrival in the Netherlands.

Is my package delayed?

This message by itself is normal and does not point to a problem. Parcels sometimes pass through more than one sorting centre, so you may see it twice. Only if the parcel stays on this line for longer than the previous steps took is it worth looking into.

What happens next

Most often the parcel is delivered or goes out for delivery, each in roughly a third of cases. Less often it is:

  • scanned at another sorting centre
  • made available at a pickup point
  • moved to a local delivery office

In a small share of cases the first delivery attempt is unsuccessful.

What you can do

  • Wait and keep checking the tracking history for a new scan.
  • Make sure your address and doorbell or letterbox label are clear and correct.
  • If the status does not change for longer than usual, contact PostNL or the seller.
  • Have your tracking number and order details ready when you do.
