"Shortlanded" is a freight term. It means your parcel was listed on the flight or transport manifest but was not unloaded at the place where it was expected. The rest of the shipment arrived, but your parcel did not come off with it. It may have stayed on the vehicle, been loaded elsewhere, or been left behind at an earlier point.
This message is an exception, not a routine scan. It usually means the parcel is behind schedule, because it missed the connection it was planned for. It does not by itself mean the parcel is lost. Parcels recorded this way are often found and moved on, but nothing is guaranteed.
SkyNet will normally try to trace the parcel and send it on to the right facility. The next scan is likely to show it arriving at a hub or being forwarded on a later connection. The wait may be longer than between earlier steps, and the tracking page can stay unchanged for a while.
