What this status means
"OE" is the office of exchange, the facility in the destination country where international mail is received and cleared. This message means the parcel has finished there, usually right after customs, and has been handed over to the domestic postal network. From here the local postal service carries it, not the international carrier.
Is my package delayed?
No, this message by itself is normal. It marks progress: the parcel has cleared the import stage and is moving on. Most parcels reach this step straight after "Leaving customs". It only becomes a concern if the next update takes longer than the previous steps did.
What happens next
Most often, in about four cases out of five, the next update is an arrival at a post office. Less often the parcel shows a further customs clearance entry first, or goes through inland sorting or forwarding. Rarely it is delivered right away, advised in a P.O. box, or marked as misdirected.
What you can do
- Wait and keep checking. Updates now often come from the local postal service, and they may appear in the local language.
- Check that your address and phone number in the order are correct.
- If nothing changes for longer than usual, or the parcel is marked misdirected, contact the local post with your tracking number.
- If that does not help, contact the seller with your order details and tracking number.
