UPS tried to deliver the parcel, but the driver found the delivery location vacant. This usually means the address looked empty or unoccupied, for example a closed business, an empty unit or a property nobody appears to be using. The parcel is still with UPS and is normally back on the delivery vehicle or at a local UPS facility.
This is an exception, not a routine step. The delivery did not happen, so the parcel will arrive later than planned. It does not mean the parcel is lost. The cause is often an address problem or a location that was closed at the time of the visit, so it is worth checking the details.
UPS usually either tries the delivery again or holds the parcel while it sorts out the address. If the address turns out to be wrong or unusable, the parcel may be held for correction or returned to the sender. Tracking should show a new attempt, a hold, or a return step.
