UPS could not complete the delivery address because the apartment, unit or suite number is missing or does not match what the building has on record. The parcel is in UPS's network, usually at a local facility or on a delivery vehicle. The second part of the message says UPS is either trying to correct the address or has not been able to reach the receiver to confirm it.
This is an exception, not a routine step. UPS says itself that delivery may be delayed. How long depends on how quickly the address is confirmed, so the delay may be short or longer than usual.
If UPS can confirm or fix the apartment number, the parcel goes back out for delivery and the tracking history should show a new scheduled or out-for-delivery update. If UPS cannot reach you or settle the address, the delivery may be attempted again, held at a facility, or returned to the sender.
