UPS moves parcels between facilities on trailers. This message means a trailer carrying your package reached a UPS facility later than planned. The parcel is inside the UPS network, usually at or just after a sorting facility, and not yet on a local delivery vehicle. UPS has added one business day to the delivery.
Yes, this is a minor exception. The message itself says delivery will be delayed by one business day. It is not a sign that the parcel is lost or damaged. It is a scheduling problem caused by a late truck.
Most often the next step is a new "Arrived at Facility" scan, in about two thirds of cases, or the same scan with an "On the Way" prefix, in about a fifth. Less often the parcel shows a departure scan or a processing scan at a UPS facility. The parcel then continues toward your local facility and out for delivery.
