UPS tried to deliver the parcel for the last time and the driver could not collect a payment due on delivery. This is usually a cash-on-delivery amount, or duties and taxes owed. The parcel is now marked undeliverable. UPS says it is being handled under local disposal guidelines, which is standard wording for parcels that cannot be delivered. The parcel is back in UPS's hands, not at your door.
This is an exception, not a routine step. The delivery has failed, and the parcel will not arrive unless the payment or address issue is sorted out. The wording sounds final, but it does not always mean the parcel is destroyed. In the few cases we have seen, the next updates were a corrected address, a return to a warehouse, or a further failed delivery. Nothing is guaranteed.
