UPS is telling you that the aircraft carrying your parcel arrived later than planned. The parcel is in the UPS air network, most likely at a facility or between two of them, and it is waiting for the next leg. The delay is with the flight. It is not about your parcel or your address.
Is my package delayed?
Yes, this message is a delay notice, so the original delivery estimate may no longer hold. It is an exception, but a minor one. It usually means a missed connection rather than a problem with the parcel. UPS does not give a new date at this point, so the delay may be longer than usual, but nothing here says the parcel is lost or damaged.
What happens next
- Most often, the parcel is scanned as "Departed from Facility" and moves on.
- In about one case in five, it is scanned as arriving at another facility.
- Sometimes an import scan or a "Processing at UPS Facility" scan follows, especially for international parcels.
- Occasionally the same delay message is shown again.
What you can do
- Wait and keep checking your tracking history. A new scan is the sign that the parcel is moving again.
- If a new delivery date appears, plan around that one, not the original.
- If there is no new scan for longer than the previous steps took, contact UPS with your tracking number.
- If the parcel is an order, ask the seller for help, and have your order details and tracking number ready.
